Guided tour of the winery

Making wine is a craft. In the hotel's own winery, visitors get a unique opportunity to follow the journey – from freshly picked grape to finished wine.

The Winery Hotel is the world's most northerly urban winery and the best place for those who want to learn more about the art of making wine, experience wine tasting, food and wine pairings, and in other ways deepen their knowledge of the world of wine.

The grapes are picked in Tuscany and then transported to Solna in a temperature-controlled truck directly after harvest, where they are then taken care of by us. Everyone who works at the hotel is a vineyard worker, and never is that dedication more evident than when the grapes arrive.

They are carefully sorted, destemmed, pressed, and pumped into the winery's tanks. This is done under the guidance of the Ruhne family, who have been making wine at the Terreno vineyard in Tuscany for 35 years. They have brought their combined knowledge of wine and winemaking with them to us. Production of a red and a rosé wine amounts to approximately 12,000 bottles annually.

The wines are enjoyed throughout all parts of the hotel – in the wine bar Winemakers Bar, in the restaurant Terreno Kitchen, our gastro wine bar Gallo Nero with an Italian touch, and at the hotel's rooftop bar Winery Rooftop.
